It's ironic to realize I haven't really explored Bristol by paying a day trip despite having stayed here for 1.5 month. I spent this period discovering many much further places - Bibury, Bath, even to the extent of flying to Germany. However, this Saturday my girls and I decided to settle near, just so we would still have time to rest on Sunday. We wandered around Clifton with our free express bus card in the morning and proceeded to the famous Bristol landmark, The Suspension Bridge. I'd say all in all it's a very great trip! :) The only drawback was the unbearable weather. It's not at all difficult to acknowledge the weather change starting this week. It's almost close to zero at night! I had a constant feeling that I was going to be blown away by the intensely strong wind that contributed nothing but uncomfortable chill. This winter, I'll really just want to stay in, hibernate and get up only when spring knocks.
Anyway, it's so happening here in the UK for Halloween celebration! On streets you will see many youngsters walking in gangs attending parties with different make-ups and costumes. It really is fun!
Happy Sunday, folks!
love, M

it's so nice to live in such a beautiful city.. in the course of studying art history i always wonder why those european masters can paint their landscape so well.. one thing is of course their technical skill is good one thing is that the place itself is already very beautiful.. really enjoy looking through your pictures.. makes me wanna travel :)

DeleteYes, it is!! I wish I had more time for travel though :P Thanks so much, lovely! I wish you could come to explore all these beauties yourself one day too :) By then you maybe can paint/ capture even better pictures, heh!
Have a beautiful day x
Hi mandy, really wanna thank you again for sharing how you edit your pictures. Really appreciate it. :)
ReplyDeleteBut i do have one question though. For example: if i were to use jtrotti's amber curves to brighten my pictures, i kinda lose the touch of blue from my skies. How did u manage to brighten your pictures but still maintain the beautiful blue skies? Been really stressing on this as my skies always get too overexposed and it will just look white.
I hope im not bothering and hope that u can help me. Thanks very much in advance. ^^
(Kei)
DeleteAw no problem, my dear :)
To maintain the beautiful skies, you can do selective editing. Use the magic wand tool (or quick selection tool or lasso tool) to only select the sky part. Then, you can either use the brightness/ contrast function to reduce the brightness and proceed to use the color balance function to increase the blue intensity (drag the slider in direction of blue instead of yellow). Both functions can be found in the menu bar under the IMAGE then ADJUSTMENTS.
Alternatively, you can select the sky part with the selection tools mentioned just now, and use the shadows/ highlights function (also under IMAGE then ADJUSTMENTS) and increase the highlights. I always make it around 10%.
Hope it helps! You can ask me anything if you are still not able to get it :)
Cheers! x
